Contents Page: I used the same colour scheme in my contents as i did my final front cover, so that it would not look out of place, i made a simple colour and layour, with both the bubble effect on my front page, and the same style of writing, I made the layout simple so the reader can easily see what is included inside the magazine and where it is at. I added things that might be included inside of a normal school magazine.

Final Draft/Third Draft
My Third draft is to the left, which Utilized the same bubble effect as My first draft, however the development for my first draft was done in a lot more detail than the other two draft's and as I took a keen eye in this draft, i decided that i would use it as my final preliminary task. I added some pictures which I took and re-arranged both the subheadings and the text and re-arranged it on the page. The final end product I shall post solitarily on a seperate post. I believe that both the cool colours and the font's present a laid back feel to the front cover, which is almost relaxing.
Mock Front Cover II
Mock front cover II: After my development I decided to play around with new ideas, and went for a more warm, reddy yellow colour scheme, this draft Utilizes both a new title and layout, as well as other things that differentiate from my other two designs, however I decided to keep the images and the actual title name and content listing the same, just changed their format and style, in the end I decided to develop upon my originial mock further.
Mock Front Cover

Mock front cover I:
My First Draft Front cover I went for a cool colour scheme, with a white background that I decided to do after some development. It includes many of the aspects of my final choice in front cover, and was also a test to see how other effects worked against my chosen design, eventually I decided that I would develop on this design further, the analysis and process for which I have posted below In presentation format.

Front Cover & Contents Page 2

Front Cover II:
The Images and text give off a friendly and positive attitude, whilst still displaying that the school gives a challenge, it targets female students, who may be interested in either maths or computing. The Image shows two students displaying certificates, as a mark of success at this school, the colours give off a very cool tone, not many warm colours are present, a modern and icy tone is present. Alliteration in the Headline “Maths Maestros” aims at a younger, less sincere target audience, contrasting to the following text “Our students accept a challenge” which gives off a more professional and educational vibe. Other displays of success are evident through the cover with sub headlining stories as “A towering achievement” and “Educational experience” showcase the school’s success and the accomplishments of its students.

Contents Page II:
The contents page displays quite an abundance of text, the main image, which dominates the top half of the page, the image portrays a good relationship between teacher and pupil, and a high level of respect and communication, the contents page keeps a formal tone, with friendly invitations to the magazine such as “Welcome to our learning community” and “Get to know your governors” shows a healthy attitude to both a unfamiliar and familiar audience.

Intro

This is my blog to follow my progress in developing my premilinary task, and to display my finished product, i will be both researching School magazines and creating 0ne of my own.
Here is my analysis of the first front cover and contents page that I analysed
Front Cover 1: The main image is of a Girl looking skywards, perhaps resembling the student’s aspirations to achieve higher. The Magazine title is again present at the top of the page, not interrupting the background. The language is informal with the Subheading “Club together” the magazine’s colour sets a cool tone again. The slogan “every girl counts” displays how every girl is treated individually with respect and the outcome of each person matters to the college. The sentence “students enjoy extra-curricular activities” under “Club together” portrays that students have combined to take on these extra curricular activities, and in doing so, are really enjoying the activities at their disposal.
Contents Page 1:
The contents page is displayed with a single large image of a girl working, she is smiling and the title is “results to be proud of” this portrays that the results achieved through studying at this school are of a high standard, and are something to be proud of. Two subheadings “Share in our success” and “Student Reception open for business” invites you into this school, and to be a part of either it or the educational community of the school. A report of “High praise from ofsted” shows once again the school’s success, coupled with the welcoming tones, this page presents a very warm and welcoming image of a school that is both friendly, respectful and will help you achieve the best results you can.
